Index of Oratorio scores and sound files available for download

Use this button to keep track of purchases.

This page is a new resource. Though it has been planned for a long time it will take a long time to complete. Eventually it is hoped to have all scores from the Mélodie Treasury Oratorio anthologies available for download along with digital accompaniments. Whilst all the songs have been listed, for now only the songs that have links are available. If the song you want hasn't been posted please feel free to email me for requests.

All the arias will be downloaded as PDFs complete with recitatives, formatted with the same care as they are in the anthologies. Backing tracks, with and without the melody line are MP3s and generally only include the aria.

J. S. Bach
Aus Liebe will mein Heiland sterben
Blute nur, du liebes Herz
Et exultavit spiritus meus
Er hat uns Allen wohlgetan
Ich folge dir gleichfalls
Ich will dir mein Herze schenken
Mein gläubiges Herze
Meinem Hirten bleib ich treu
My heart ever faithful
Nur ein Wink
Quia respexit
Seufzer, Thränen, Kummer, Not
Wiewohl mein Herz in Tränen schwimmt
Zerfließe, mein Herze

Debussy
Lia’s aria

Fauré
Pie Jesu

Handel
Angels ever bright and fair
As when the dove laments her love
Beneath the vine
Can I see my infant gor’d?
Come and Trip it
Endless pleasure, endless love
Farewell, ye limpid springs
He shall feed his flock
Heart, the seat of soft delight
Here amid the shady woods
Hide me from the day’s garish eye
How beautiful are the feet
I know that my redeemer liveth
If God be for us, who can be against us
Let the bright Seraphim
May at last my weary age
O Sleep, why dost thou leave me?
O that I on wings could rise
Oh! had I Jubal’s lyre
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion
Tecum principium in die virtutis
The soft complaining Flute
Will the sun forget to streak?
With darkness deep, as is my woe
With thee th’unshelter’d moor I tread

Heroes when with glory burning
Hymen, haste! Thy torch prepare
If God be for us, who can be against us
In gentle murmurs will I mourn
Lord to Thee each night and day
New scenes of joy

Benedictus from Bmin mass

Handel
Behold, and see if there be any sorrow
But God, who bears the suff'ring pow'r
But thou didst not leave
Call forth thy pow’rs
Comfort ye my people
Ev’ry valley shall be exalted
From the celestial seats descending
Gentle airs, melodious strains!
Golden columns fair and bright
Hide thou thy hated beams, O sun
His mighty arm
Lay your doubts and fears aside
Let me wander not unseen
Love in her eyes sits playing
Love sounds the alarm
No unhallowed desire
O Lord, how many are my foes
Open the marble jaws
Or let the merry bells ring round
Sacred raptures cheer my breast
Sound an alarm!
Thou shalt break them
Thus when the sun
Total eclipse
Tyrannic love! I feel thy cruel dart
Waft her, angels
Where’er you walk
Would you gain the tender creature?
Ye verdant hills

J. S. Bach
Am Abend, da es kühle war
Betrache, Meine Seel'
Der Heiland fällt vor seinem Vater nieder
Endlich wird mein Joch
Et in spiritum sanctum
Gebt mir meinem Jesum wieder
Gerne will ich mich bequemen
Grosser Herr und starker König
Ich freue mich auf meinen Tod
Ich habe genug
Ich will den Kreuzstab gerne tragen
Mache dich, mein Herze, rein
Mein Wandeln auf der Welt
Quia fecit mihi magna
Quoniam tu solus sanctus
Schlummert ein

Fauré
Hostias
Libera me

Handel
Arm, arm ye brave
But who may abide the day of his coming?
For behold, darkness shall cover the earth
Go my faithful soldier
Honour and arms scorn such a foe
How willing my paternal love
I rage, I melt, I burn!
Just are the ways of God to man
Laud her all ye virgin train
Leave me, loathsome light
Mein Vater, schau, wie ich mich quäle
Mirth admit me of thy crew
More sweet is that name
O ruddier than the cherry
Revenge, Timotheus Cries
Tears such as tender fathers shed
The Lord worketh wonders
The people that walked in darkness
The trumpet shall sound
Thou art gone up on high
Thus saith The Lord
To pow’r immortal my first thanks are due
Vouchsafe, oh Lord
With pious hearts
