Honegger - Trois psaumes

Trois psaumes

Honegger (1941)

Jamais ne cesserai
De magnifier le Seigneur:
En ma bouche aurai son honneur
Tant que vivant serai.
Mon cœur plaisir n'aura
Qu'à voir son Dieu glorifié:
Dont maint bon cœur humilié,
L'oyant, s'éjouira.

O Dieu, donne-moi délivrance
De cet homme pernicieux
Préserve-moi de la nuisance
De cet homme malicieux.

Théodore de Béze

Il faut que de tous mes esprits
Ton los et pris, j'exalte et prise:
Devant les grands présenter
Pour chanter j'ai fait emprise.
Et ton temple adorerai,
Célèbrerai ta renommée,
Pour l'amour de ta grand' bonté,
Et féauté tant estimée.

Clément Marot

Three psalms

Never shall I cease
to magnify the Lord:
on my lips I shall have his honour
As long as I remain alive.
My heart will have pleasure
only in seeing its God glorified:
whom many a good humbled heart,
will have, and will be joyful.

O God, deliver me
from this pernicious man
keep me from the harm
of this malicious man.

With all my spirits I must
exalt and adore your praise and adoration:
before the greats present
to sing I have influenced.
And your temple shall worship,
celebrate your renown,
for the love of your great kindness,
and fidelity held in such esteem.
